Should Inheritance be Taxed?

Michael Currie thinks not: "A 100% inheritance tax is not possible, beneficial or ethical. Though such a tax is concieved with the best of intentions, it is in fact more an expression of envy and vindictiveness than a rational public policy. Moreover, because an inheritance tax is a particularly damaging tax relative to alternative state revenue sources (like a sales tax), even a partial taxation of inheritance reaps no net benefit for society."

TECH SECTOR REELING AS CURRIE SWITCHES CONTINENTS
WATERLOO (AP) According to recent reports, University of Waterloo undergraduate Michael Currie has signed on to work with British startup DecisionSoft Ltd.

While the Oxford-based company was unavailable for comment at press time, Currie was quoted as saying, "I am very excited about my first trip to the British Isles, and I am looking forward to working with [DecisionSoft's] stellar development team." more...
