Should Inheritance be Taxed?
![]() Michael Currie thinks not: "A 100% inheritance tax is not possible, beneficial or ethical. Though such a tax is concieved with the best of intentions, it is in fact more an expression of envy and vindictiveness than a rational public policy. Moreover, because an inheritance tax is a particularly damaging tax relative to alternative state revenue sources (like a sales tax), even a partial taxation of inheritance reaps no net benefit for society."
